The police close off 5th St at 8 am to make it easier for people to cross the street. However, many of them also close up by 11. They also open much earlier - even though official hours are 8 to 12, many are already there at 6 and all of them are fully set up by 7 am. The prices are far less in many cases than the Certified Farmers market down the street. They also have fresh made soymilk, tofu and other products plus you can always experiment with some of those commonly used only by Asians. Not only do they have many of the more common fruits and vegetables, but they have many I rarely or never see at the larger one two blocks away such as Kohlrabi, okra, chili peppers, papaya, ginger, fresh peanuts, fava beans and several types of yams. I finally decided to check it out and was pleasantly surprised. With years I passed up on this, thinking all they had was unusual produce that I had no idea what they were or how to use them. ![]() It a chance to see an ancient skill being perserved, performed and brought into the future. To all visitors, If you have not done so take advantage of the live demonstration of molten bronze pourings during saturday evening art walks. The floor space is such that these pieces can be staged in such a way that the viewer can walk around the sculpture and experience it fully. It is one of the few galleries that also presents a variety of sculptures or three dimentional art. The gallery always features new and unique accomplished artists. I would highly recommend to visitors any future receptions and gallery viewings. From the 1970s onward, the Fireside served as the home alley for Roseville native Steve Cook who went on to three major championships in the Professional Bowlers Association tour. Furniture was crafted in a Danish modern style and an intercommunication system permitted bowlers to contact the control desk or order refreshments without leaving their seats. Constructed in the same year and set in the Grand Oaks Shopping Center, the 24-lane structure contained a coffee shop and cocktail lounge, the latter housing the alley's namesake stone fireplace.
